1. Attend the Welcome Remarks and the Featured Panel via Zoom

2. Watch and comment on pre-recorded 5-min Spotlight Talks on YouTube

All 83 pre-recorded presentations will be released on YouTube on July 22 starting at 9:00am (GMT, Greenwich time). Following the authors’ wishes, some videos will only be available for a limited period (10 days till August 1st, 2020), while others will remain public for one year (until August 1st, 2021).

  • Mode: Asynchronous
  • Q&A:  Use YouTube’s commenting feature for each video to submit your questions and provide collegial and constructive feedback to the authors. All comments will be moderated to avoid spam.
  • Most Engaging Presentation Award: The presentation with the greatest number of comments on YouTube by July 31 will receive the “Most Engaging Presentation” Award. The result will be announced on August 1, 2020 via our Twitter account and the conference website.

3. Engage with the #SMSociety Community on Twitter

  • When: July 22-31, 2020
  • How: Use the conference hashtag #SMSociety on Twitter to connect with other community members, share videos of your own spotlight talk or comment on talks from other authors.
  • Mode: Asynchronous
  • Most Engaged Attendee on Twitter Award: Just like in the past years, we are going to have the “Most Engaged Attendee on Twitter” Award to be announced on August 1, 2020 via our Twitter account and the conference website. So, start tweeting early and often!

4. Read the Full Papers in the Conference Proceedings via ACM Digital Library

  • When: starting on July 22, 2020
  • HowACM Digital Library
  • Mode: Asynchronous
  • Note: While some published papers will require the institutional subscription to the ACM Digital Library. Please feel free to email the authors directly to ask for their pre-print copy.
